A few hundred years ago, the Earth was nowhere near as advanced as it is today. We may not have flying cars, but there are robots that can prepare and serve food to us. That still strikes us as impressive. The creation of artificial intelligence, in addition, was the biggest advancement in recent years. A world without AI is unimaginable to most people in the current times. Innumerable individuals are using it to the fullest extent, as it is now accessible to the general public.

Recently, a football fan had the idea of creating new NFL mascots. However, contrary to what fans were expecting, scarring AI-Generated NFL Mascots was the end outcome. The creepy images of the mascots pay testimony to the statement made above. When fans saw how distorted and unsettling the pictures were, they could not stop themselves from giving their honest reactions.
NFL fans react to rattling AI-Generated NFL Mascots
An NFL fan named Gary Gates (@GG) thought it was a great idea to ask AI to “reimagine all 32 NFL mascots.” However, that might have been a mistake. Among all the freaky mascots, one of the most unsettling ones was that of the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland has two mascots, Chomp and Brownie the Elf. They also had a live mascot, a bullmastiff whose name was Swagger. Unfortunately, Swagger died of cancer. However, the mascot that AI generated did not look either like Chomp or Brownie the Elf.
These look scary!

In addition to that, Green Bay Packers’ mascot also came out looking truly creepy. Though the Packers have not been with a mascot for a long time, the one developed by AI was not adorable at all. In fact, it looked like a monster from a child’s dream. Here’s how fans reacted to it.
AI took facial recognition of every resident of Green Bay and created a single composite of what they all look like as a single entity. And, got it spot on, IMHO.

It looks like Packers found a perfect replacement for Aaron Rodgers. 🤣🤣🤣

Moreover, AI also put a gnarly spin on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ mascot. In Steely McBeam, fans saw a mascot that looked like a honey bee fused with a duck.
After seeing these @NFL mascots reimagined by AI … @Browns & @steelers should unite to stop AI https://t.co/kb2gbi1621

Best to worst AI-generated mascots
To be fair, not all the mascots that AI created were nightmarish. Some were adorable and surpassed their NFL counterparts. Let’s rank them from best to worst. In the first position, we have the Bengals mascot who looks like a giant cuddly cat but is covered by a misplaced black boa.

The second-best mascot is of the Baltimore Ravens. It looks like a raven who is calm and cute. Jacksonville Jaguars’ AI-generated mascot takes the spot as the third-best one. It has electric blue fur around its neck and its ears are also furry! It looks like it wants to be our best friend.

The worst mascot was definitely that of the Kansas City Chiefs. It looked as if a gladiator and a cheerleader joined hands.

The second-worst mascot is of the Seattle Seahawks. It looked like a character from Monster Inc. Overall, it would be fair to say that although the effort made by GG is praiseworthy, some of the images which came out looking incredibly scary.
