Before Calling Justin Fields 'Physically More Talented' Than Kirk Cousins & Matt Ryan, Dan Orlovsky Backed Bears' Signal Caller to Play "MVP Level Football" in 2023

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is entering the 2023 season with high expectations after a fairly forgettable season last time around. ESPN’s outspoken analyst Dan Orlovsky has recently raised the bar even higher for Fields and has made some bold predictions about the young signal-caller. Orlovsky reckons that not only Fields is “physically more talented” than the likes of Matt Ryan and Kirk Cousins, but can also churn out impressive stats in 2023.

Even though Justin Fields does not have a hugely impressive resume at this point, his caliber speaks volumes of what is about to come next. According to the ESPN analyst, Fields has got an edge over the seasoned veterans. Despite having just one season under his belt as a full-time starter, Justin Fields’ promising performance has led Orlovsky to believe that the young QB is destined for an “MVP level” season.

Dan Orlovsky’s Optimistic About Justin Fields Delivering an MVP-Level Performance

According to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky on First Take Monday morning, the expectations for Justin Fields have skyrocketed. Fields displays great potential, even going as far as to anticipate “MVP-level football” per Dan. He stated, “I think he’s gonna play MVP level football”

Previously, Orlovsky expressed concerns about the unfavorable conditions for any quarterback playing in Chicago. Dan believes that a strengthened offensive line can provide better protection for Justin Fields and give him more time to make plays.

“Before the [2022] season, I said [Chicago] was the worst place for anyone to play quarterback,” Orlovsky said. “It was a bottom-five skill group and a bottom-five offensive line. Justin Fields played good in the worst situation possible.”

With the addition of D.J. Moore as a fort-holder at the wide receiver position, Orlovsky sees the potential for Fields to thrive. Moore is regarded as a “bonafide No. 1 wide receiver,” providing Fields with a dynamic target downfield. Furthermore, the Bears addressed their offensive line concerns by drafting Darnell Wright from Tennessee in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. Given the massive updates and improvements, Fields is up for a great season ahead.

Justin Fields: Talented Quarterback with Higher Expectations

Given the explanation from Orlovsky, it’s quite clear that Justin Fields holds a high place on the analyst’s list. “On average, when a quarterback plays in this system going into their second year… The average statistic performance for year two… is 4,100 yards and 32 touchdowns,” Orlovsky said while giving the reason behind his prediction that Fields’ stats this year will be better than how they were last year.

Dan further stated, “it’s Kirk Cousins, it’s Baker Mayfield it’s Jimmy Garoppolo, it’s Matt Ryan, and the average statistic performance of those guys. Justin’s a more talented player than them physically.” He added, “It’s not a hundred percent but Justin Fields and his physical talent in year two in this system with the upgrade.”

With Dan Orlovsky’s high praise and bold predictions, the pressure is on for Justin Fields as he enters the 2023 NFL season. The ESPN analyst has set the bar high, comparing Fields’ physical talents to seasoned quarterbacks and hinting at the potential for an MVP-level performance. Now, all eyes are on Fields as the season fires up again!
