The NFL Draft 2023 has kicked off in Kansas City, and the top picks have already been taken off the board. Although this year’s draft is viewed as a quarterback-heavy class, some great weapons to aid the passers have joined this group. Bijan Robinson, a Texas product, is one of them. As expected, the youngster has found himself in the top 10.

The 21-year-old running back has been selected by the Atlanta Falcons as the 8th overall pick. It appears Desmond Ridder has a new weapon to strengthen his offensive unit, although Tyler Allgeier still remains on the roster as a favorite. Head coach Arthur Smith had no apprehensions about selecting this Longhorn and instantly utilized their 8th overall pick on Robinson.
How did Bijan Robinson perform in the combined day drills? What are his strengths?
The Tucson native happened to be a five-star recruit for Texas State after showcasing a top-notch performance in high school. In three years with the Longhorns, Robinson gained 3,407 yards and scored 33 touchdowns on 539 carries. Similarly, he also completed 60 passes out of 77 attempts, scoring eight touchdowns for 803 yards. His jacked physique and smooth mobility make him a promising athlete to control the running back spot, and no doubt the Cardinals are going to benefit from their choice.
Robinson didn’t disappoint his followers on the combine day drills and proved why he was a five-star recruit. The youngster completed the 40-yard dash in just 4.46 seconds. Moreover, he recorded a vertical jump of 37″, and a broad jump of 124″.
All Robinson wants is to become a game changer and create an impact. “I could be a game changer for the team. Not just a running back. A game changer. A guy that can do it all on the football field,” the RB said in a recent interview, per Yahoo Sports. It will be interesting to see whether he lives up to the expectations.
