Who Was the First Pick in the 2023 NFL Draft?
The 2023 NFL Draft is finally underway, and the Carolina Panthers have kicked things off. While their choice was something many expected ever since they traded up to get the first pick, it was still a moment of excitement and surprise. Especially for Bryce Young, as he walked on the stage in a Panthers cap as Roger Goodell announced his name.
The Panthers traded a bunch of first-round, and second-round picks, and receiver DJ Moore to get the #1 pick from the Chicago Bears. Almost everyone was convinced that the Panthers, who needed a reliable QB prospect, were gunning for Young in this year’s draft. Though QBs such as Anthony Richardson and C.J. Stroud spiced up the race, it seems the reality was as many had predicted.

The Panthers will benefit massively from a QB of Bryce Young’s stature
Bryce Young isn’t particularly on the taller side when compared to most NFL QBs. However, he is no less skilled than some of the best signal callers when they entered the league. Which is exactly what the Panthers need right now, to solve their QB woes. Bryce Young could potentially be a long-term investment that could yield great results if the Panthers build a proper team around him.
Bryce Young has established himself as a proper pocket passes throughout his college performances. Now, he will be the center spot of an offense that will be looking to build itself into a team that offers competition. Not just for the playoffs, but the Super Bowl as well. Though it may not happen this year, Panthers fans can be hopeful about the future. So can Alabama’s first-ever #1 pick in the NFL.
