“Brett Favre Prefers to Go After Poor People”: Despite Dropping Lawsuit Against Pat McAfee, Veteran QB Continues to Get Slammed Online

Not so long ago, Packers legend Brett Favre sued former Colts kicker Pat McAfee for defamation. The day he was served, McAfee confidently said that this lawsuit would not hold at all. Now, it seems his prediction has come true, as Favre officially withdraws his lawsuit against McAfee. However, it doesn’t seem like things will get better for the NFL legend. At least, from the fans’ side.

Favre sued McAfee after the latter spoke about Favre’s financial scam down in Mississippi. Though according to McAfee, he only spoke about the allegations levied against the former Packers’ QB. Added to that, McAfee even said that on the show, he always starts addressing an allegation with the word “allegedly”. It seems his careful wording may just have helped him get out of a massive lawsuit.

While McAfee may forgive Favre, the fans are not in such a good mood

Ever since he became a commentator and show host, McAfee’s fan following has increased dramatically. This is why when the whole debacle with Favre occurred, a massive amount of people started trashing Favre. One would assume that since Favre withdrew his lawsuit, the slandering would go as well. However, the fans are not in the mood to let bygones be bygones.

Perhaps the pinnacle of trash-talking is represented by the comment from one user, saying, “Brett prefers to go after poor people”. Many fans agree with that statement and the fact that this burn will take a while to recover from. Oh, and just in case, these are just “allegations”, and we have no inside knowledge of Brett Favre’s sentimentality, nor any knowledge of how his ego may be hurt by the fan’s comments.

Pat McAfee has two good things to celebrate this month

Even though the withdrawal of the lawsuit is good news, it is not the best news by far for Pat McAfee this month. A week ago, McAfee and his wife welcomed their first child into the world. He broke the news on Twitter, his excitement oozing through the Tweet. Though he declined to say the name they had chosen for her, instead letting his wife do the honors.

The McAfee’s have previously suffered two miscarriages, which makes this even more important, and an even bigger celebration. Not just for family and friends, but for the entire McAfee fanbase. Maybe when baby McAfee grows up, she’ll have a bigger impact on the football community than her father. With Pat to guide her, it seems the sky will only be the beginning for this young one.
