The Washington Commanders have had a mixed season thus far. Although they have failed to make plays at crucial instances in several games, they have actually managed to dominate the proceedings every now and then.

Last Sunday, they took on the New York Giants in a critically important encounter. Both teams tried their level best with the Commanders starting off nicely in the first quarter.
However, the Giants made a magnificent comeback in the second quarter to gain a 11 point lead which ultimately proved to be too much for the Commanders.
However, more than the result, what ended up grabbing the most amount of attention during the clash were the dubious calls made by the refs. NFL fans were so furious that they started questioning if the league is actually as transparent as it presents itself to be.
Referees Had a Really Bad Day During The Commanders vs Giants Game
First, a pass interference penalty wasn’t called and then again, a questionable penalty call prevented the Commanders from scripting a comeback.
After this, several fans took to Twitter to claim that the NFL is preventing the Commanders on purpose from qualifying for the playoffs as the league’s relationship with Dan Snyder, the owner of the Washington-based franchise has gone sour in the past few months.
This is a massive claim and although it is true that the refs can have a bad day, the Dan Snyder situation has actually provided more impetus to the fan argument. Actually, this isn’t the first time when fans have raised questions on transparency in the league.
A few days ago, a Twitter handle named Uber facts had posted that the NFL is an entertainment business rather than a sport. They also mentioned that the league can legally fix games at will.
Not so much of a conspiracy now huh https://t.co/qX6Ie1dNvN

Many also claimed that transmitters and magnets are placed inside the football and gloves to predetermine the outcome of the games. However, many fans also stated that with so many camera angles and replays, it is not possible to fix games at this level on a consistent basis.
It’s classified as sports entertainment, and they legally can’t fix games due to many reasons. Mainly the gambling association tied to the game.

In the end, nobody can confirm if there is any reality to the points made by the fans as all this is just chatter. However, the level of officiating definitely needs improvement, otherwise, such questions will keep getting raised.
