Kirk, 31, was a right-wing activist who believed in free markets and limited government, and also helped co-found Turning Point USA. He was a devoted husband and father of two.
In response to Kirk’s passing, many across the internet have expressed their condolences. And among them is the wife of the Kansas City Chiefs owner, Tavia Hunt. She penned a lengthy note on Instagram that captured the state of things beautifully.
“As a society, we must be reminded that human life is sacred and never disposable. We must learn again to disagree with words, not weapons. That is exactly what Charlie modeled—he met opposition with dialogue, not violence, and proved that conviction and civility can walk hand in hand,” Hunt wrote on her Instagram.
“Charlie’s voice will continue to echo, calling us to live with conviction, courage, and hope. May the righteous rise up, bold as lions, and bear witness to the truth,” she added.
The powerful message, which was shared alongside a stock photo meant to represent Kirk and his wife, received over 9k likes. Hunt had much more to say about Kirk, which we condensed into a paragraph above. If you’d like to read her full message, the embed is included below:

It was a nice gesture from Clark Hunt’s wife. Clearly, the tragedy rattled her, and she felt the need to say something. This is always encouraged in trying times. As of now, a manhunt is underway as police try to locate Kirk’s murderer. According to sources, the shooter fired from an adjacent rooftop, left the weapon behind, and fled on foot.
The murder has sparked a political outcry among U.S. citizens, especially from the conservative right wing. Even Randi Mahomes, mother of Patrick Mahomes, has spoken out, sharing Tavia’s post on her IG story.
Many believe that the tragedy is a sign that political violence must be taken much more seriously in the country. After all, President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated in a similar incident in July 2024.
