Colin Kaepernick, an American civil rights activist and former NFL quarterback, has been making headlines time and time again as he continues to fight for what he believes in. Recently, Colin discussed his views on how he is looking forward to making a comeback in the NFL. While there are varying opinions surrounding his potential return, it remains to be seen how those opinions will ultimately impact his chances of rejoining the league.

Since he left the league years ago, Colin has been trying his best to get back in the NFL. In fact, the former 49ers QB recently claimed in an interview with SI.com per Gilberto Manzano, that he wants to go ‘Toe in Toe’ with Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts and wishes to “Keep Pushing, Keep Building.”
“I’ve heard a lot of excuses over the years”: Colin Kaepernick on not being able to make a comeback
As it turns out, Colin wants to prove to the world that he is more than deserving to be a part of the NFL. However, despite positive feedbacks, the former QB hasn’t been able to secure a position on any team’s roster. Reflecting on this, Colin recently said that teams are probably considering the political factors as well while taking a decision on his inclusion in the unit.

Kaepernick told SI, “I’ve heard a lot of excuses over the years. Everything from you’re still an elite player to the workout was great, it was better than expected. Obviously, there’s something else within this decision. To me, that’s typically what it ends up being, or has been for the last seven years.”
Kaepernick went on to add that he wants teams to judge him on his prowess as a Quarterback, instead of looking at his political affiliation. “I just want the opportunity to come in, and show what I can do on the field. Judge me based upon that, not the political bias you have,” he stated.
Colin showers praise on other leading QBs in the league
In August 2016, at a preseason game between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner”. That move led to a chain of events which ultimately landed Colin in a space where he is struggling to find a team to play for.
While his quest goes on, Colin recently had a lot to say about other star QBs like Mahomes, Hurts and Lamar, who are currently active in the league and have been doing exceptionally well. “I’m excited to see them continue to do their thing, and I hope I get to stand on the opposing sideline with them,” Kaepernick told Sports Illustrated.
Moreover, giving a message to his fans, Colin added, “we’re going to create a better future for all of us.” It will be interesting to see if the former 49er gets a chance to play once again on the biggest stage.
