Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones

Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, criticized the congressional investigation into Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Commanders, as being “politically biased.”

After receiving complaints about a toxic work environment, the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform conducted an investigation into Snyder and the Commanders’ company. In a damning report titled “Conduct Detrimental: How the NFL and the Washington Commanders Covered Up Decades of Sexual Misconduct,” the findings were made public on Thursday.

After the NFL failed to release detailed findings from an internal investigation by an attorney, Beth Wilkinson, the investigation was started in October 2021. “Bullying, intimidation, sexual harassment, and a culture of fear pervaded the Commander’s organization,” according to Wilkinson.

One of the Oversight Committee investigation’s more damning conclusions was that “over the course of more than 20 years, a toxic work environment at Commanders hurt dozens of employees. The owner of the Team approved and took part in this disturbing behavior.”

The report also claimed that the Commanders leadership downplayed and ignored senior male employees’ s*xual misconduct. Additionally, it was claimed that Snyder had impeded the Wilkinson investigation and that the NFL knew about it but did nothing to stop it.

Jerry Jones asserts that the Commanders investigation is politically biased

Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, had a few things to say regarding the Commanders’ congressional investigation on Friday. During his weekly Friday appearance on Dallas’s 105.3 The Fan, Jones said, “first of all, I hope our fans see how politically biassed this report is. If the Republicans were in control of Congress, this report wouldn’t even be released.”

Jones called the report plainly stupid. “My point is that bias permeates everything. Behind every story there are tales. The truth is that Mr. Snyder’s minority partners made a lot of effort to convince him to sell. In the end, he bought them out. However, much of this is that”.

In other words, Jones thinks that the three minority partners—including Fred Smith, the founder of FedEx—started the whole thing in order to harm Snyder. However, the truth is that they had already cashed out months before Congress launched its inquiry.
