"Colorado is About Coaching His Sons": Jason Whitlock Accuses Deion Sanders of Joining CU to Build His Own & Son Shedeur Sanders' Brand

When Coach Prime left Jackson State’s locker room, it was quite an emotional moment for the entire football fraternity. The HBCU community was highly distressed, especially because of the commitment and success he reaped at Jackson State in two years. In his last press conference for the team, Deion Sanders left his followers teary-eyed by delivering an emotional message for the players and his entire community.

The veteran’s transition from JS to Colorado was certainly an unexpected move. He was enjoying great support from the local people, but despite all that fame, he chose to join a weaker side. The Buffaloes registered their all-time low 1-11 record in the 2022 season, placing them at the bottom of the list. Hence, Deion’s transition was projected as a selfish move, made to just earn more money. However, he did not leave Jackson State high & dry. He led them to a fabulous 27-6 record before finally bidding adieu.

Deion Sanders couldn’t control his tears during the last interaction with Jackson State players

Sanders took the top job at Jackson State in 2020 and left the arena last season as one of the most successful coaches in recent  college history. During his final press conference for the team, the veteran announced his willingness to take a new job and expressed his gratitude for the love and support he received at Jackson State. “Not tomorrow, now. Not the next day, now. … We started together, let’s end together,” Sanders said, before breaking into tears, per Fox News. “Give me my theme music,” the players then shouted in the locker room.

Ever since Sanders left the team, netizens have been constantly roasting him online. They have accused him of prioritizing money over winning games for the team. Per reports, the veteran signed a five-year, $29.5 million deal with Colorado, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the college world.

Earlier, he was taking a minimal salary of $300,000 per year during his tenure at Jackson State. Hence, it isn’t tough to understand why people haven’t sided with Deion in the last few months. On the other hand, Sanders has repeatedly denied all such allegations.

Sanders is making major changes inside the Buffaloes’ locker room

Recently, the 55-year-old football legend faced heavy criticism for his plans to rebuild the Colorado football team. In his first team meeting, Coach Prime asked players to utilize the facility of the transfer portal. He asked all the athletes who were not willing to play for the team to relocate and encouraged other players to gear up for a tough offseason practice.

Other coaches in the college world criticized Sanders’ open announcement. However, Prime Time doesn’t seem to budge from his attitude. The preparations have already begun for Colorado, and it will be interesting to see how the unit performs under the new coach’s regime.
