Fans Continue to Throw Dirt at Dak Prescott, Comparing Him With the Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes at the Miami Grand Prix

Twenty-seven years ago, when the Dallas Cowboys lifted the Lombardi Trophy after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX, nobody would have imagined that it would take so long to get another one. Cowboys’ legacy has taken a hit since then. Quarterback Dak Prescott is often held responsible for this drought, and certainly, his underperformance did cost the team another chance to contend for the title last season. Meanwhile, the veteran was recently spotted enjoying the Miami Grand Prix alongside Patrick Mahomes and other counterparts from the NFL fraternity. This seems to have irked the fans, who rubbed more salt over Dak’s wounds.

The Miami Grand Prix is progressing in full swing, with celebrities and fans from across the globe flocking to South Florida. This is the second time Miami is hosting Formula One, and there seems to be no shortage of festivities. From the NFL family, Mahomes and the Cowboys quarterback have already graced the motorsports event.

Fans take shots at Dak Prescott upon spotting him with Mahomes

Out of eight Super Bowl appearances, America’s team has been able to win five. But that was before 2000. Despite so much back-and-forth in the locker room and plenty of options at their disposal, the Cowboys have failed to make an impact and have choked consistently in the last two decades.

Along with the billionaire, Jerry Jones, netizens have been roasting Prescott for these setbacks. And now the Miami Grand Prix attendance has become another stage for people to throw dirt at him. “Closest Dak will ever be to a SB ring,” wrote one of the fans after Prescott was seen hugging Mahomes at the event. He was accompanied by his teammate, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Just like last season, the 2023 Grand Prix kicked off with celebrities across the sports fraternity. Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Roger Federer, and Jake Paul were a few others who attended the event.

The race unfolded with utmost fanfare, with spectators going crazy as soon as the event got flagged off. This year, F1 will conduct two more races in the United States. According to Sports Illustrated, Round 19 will be held in Austin, Texas and Round 22 is slated for Las Vegas.

Dak Prescott vs Patrick Mahomes

When we look at Mahomes and Prescott’s head-to-head records, the Chiefs quarterback has certainly outnumbered his counterpart by a great margin. Despite entering the arena one year later, Mahomes has two championship titles and five Pro Bowl selections, while Prescott is still trying to figure out the best men who can help him win a Super Bowl.

Last season, the Cowboys quarterback recorded his worst-ever performance with a completion percentage of 66.2% for 23 touchdowns against 15 interceptions. On the other side, Mahomes led his team with 41 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. He recorded a completion rate of 67.1%.

Similarly, his rushing figures were also quite impressive. According to fantasypros.com, he ran for 358 yards and scored four touchdowns, but Prescott could only rack up 182 yards for a single touchdown. He likes to stay in the pocket; however, Mahomes has proven his skillset as a dual-threat QB with excellent footwork.
