At some point in time, your parents or teachers would have taught you lessons such as “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” or “keep your hands to yourself.” It doesn’t seem D.K. Metcalf grasped those life advice.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ WR1 has received a two-game suspension for his infamous sideline interaction with a Detroit Lions fan. Well, ‘interaction’ would be an understatement as the incident involved Metcalf grabbing the collar of the fan’s shirt before throwing a punch at him.
Metcalf will also likely void $45 million in contract guarantees and pay $555,555 in fines. But despite the footage and the ruling, one of the NFL’s most premier pass rushers, Maxx Crosby, is coming to the defense of the Steelers veteran.
“I don’t even know the context or what happened, but that was one of the wildest things. You know the fans are going to be f**king talking reckless and crazy,” Crosby said, before adding, “I know D.K. is a good dude. I’ve trained with him at XO’s… I’m not going to sit here and speculate.”
According to the star of the Las Vegas Raiders’ defense, even though Metcalf should have been prepared for these circumstances, it isn’t the end of the world.
“I’ve had fans in my ear,” Crosby admitted before suggesting that Los Angeles Chargers fans are a unique kind of extreme. In alluding to Chargers fans on social media labeling him as an “alcoholic” and a “drug addict piece of sh*t,” Crosby seemed to suggest that firing back at the fans is an essential right for players.
“As a player,” Crosby prefaced. “I’m going to turn around and say ‘F**k you, mother f**ker,’ and get right back to work.”
Of course, that’s likely all that the Lions fan had wished Metcalf did, as a few harsh words are infinitely better than a potential concussion dealt out by a 229-pound professional athlete.
However, since millions of dollars are at stake, it should come as no surprise to hear that Metcalf is planning to appeal the ruling. His argument will likely be predicated on the fact that he had already reported this particular fan to security once last season. He can claim that the only reason he was involved in this situation in the first place is because of the NFL’s lackadaisical approach toward banning badly behaved fans.
Until the actual X’s and O’s of the game begin to become important to you again, you’ll likely find yourself asking where all of the other top candidates are, but in the aforementioned words of Crosby himself, “F**k you, mother f**ker,’ and get right back to work.”
