“He Owes Me $1,000”: Dak Prescott’s Dismal Run Against 49ers Allows Stephen A. Smith to Win a Bet Against Marcus Spears
Cowboy fans were left aghast after the team’s brutal loss against the 49ers on Sunday. But not Stephen A. Smith. The TV personality’s “love” for the Cowboys is well-known. He reveled in the Dallas team’s loss and even came out $1000 richer after last week’s “Sunday Night Football.”
Smith, a known Cowboys anti-fan, made a bet with ex-Cowboys DE, Marcus Spears on his show ‘First Take’ on ESPN. He bet Spears a $1000 on air that QB Dak Prescott will throw at least two interceptions against the 49ers. As it turns out, Stephen A. ended up winning the bet.
Stephen A Smith Makes Bag Betting Against the Cowboys
Before the game between the Cowboys and the 49ers, Smith made a bet against the Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. When he said that Prescott would throw at least 2 interceptions, Spears was in disbelief, and said that was “disrespectful.” However, it turns out that Stephen A. Smith was right on the money as Dak ended up throwing not only 2, but 3 interceptions.
In yesterday’s ‘First Take’, Smith said “He (Marcus Spears) owes me $1000,” surprising Dan Orlovsky and guest Shannon Sharpe. Orlovsky and Sharpe were completely taken aback by this revelation and even suggested ways to make the loss even more painful for Spears.

Orlovsky said, “You gotta make him pay on air,” while Sharpe had a particularly naughty way to make the loss even more embarrassing for Spears.
Shannon Sharpe’s Naughty Ideas
Shannon Sharpe’s idea of how to make Spears pay for the bet makes him sound like an evil mastermind. Talking about how going to the bank to get quarters would be a further reminder of his loss, Sharpe said,
“Stephen A, here’s what you gotta do. You gotta make him pay in quarters. You don’t want his money, cuz you got money. You want his pride. You want him to have to go to a bank and have the cashier say, ‘Why do you want a thousand dollars in quarters’, and him to say, ‘Because I lost a bet to Stephen A.'”
After the Cowboys’ blowout loss, Marcus Spears himself tweeted, “Welp there goes 1K to an already rich man.”

Stephen A Smith was quick to mock the Dallas team on his Twitter as well, especially considering how confident Skip Bayless was prior to the game. He said in the video, “One day you will learn: they will rise so they could fall. They had y’all fooled, didn’t y’all?” It was indeed a disastrous afternoon for the Cowboys as Dak Prescott threw three interceptions on three consecutive drives and was sacked 4 times. He finished the game with only 14 completions out of 24 attempts for 153 yards.
