Tom Brady is just built different. His aesthetic physique has outshined almost every other athlete and two major reasons for that are, his disciplined work ethic and most importantly, his diet. While the veteran often boasts about his strict diet routines, he once raised a few eyebrows by referring to the exclusion of strawberries from his meals. He claimed that he never had a strawberry in his life and would never consume anything like that. But in reality, the internet detectives found disparities in his statements.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion enjoyed an illustrious career of 23 years in the pro football world. During this tenure, he refrained from making unhealthy diet choices, especially junk food and alcohol. On that list, strawberries hold a special spot because he thinks they cause inflammation. But a 2017 Super Bowl commercial in which Brady was featured, showed indications of his affection for the fruit.
Did Tom Brady lie about not consuming strawberries?
While Tom’s diet has always been a major matter of discussion, back in 2017, many had called him out for being hypocritical in his ways. Tom sat down for an interview with Dayna Evans of The Cut, answering several questions about his personal life and the infamous deflate-gate scandal which allegedly transpired in 2015.
That’s when the veteran gave insights about his diet plan, claiming that he never had a strawberry in life. “I’ve never eaten a strawberry in my life. I have no desire to do that.” Never? “Absolutely not,” he said. Well, that’s a helluva discipline Brady had maintained in life.
But Matt Giles of LONGREADS suggested that among the Super Bowl commercials broadcasted in 2017, TB12 appeared in an Intel ad where he was seen preparing pancakes with a giant pile of strawberries lying by his side. While, Brady never touched any of it, still several netizens saw the commercial as an opportunity to call Brady out. To be fair, it still remains a mystery if Tom really likes having strawberries or not.
TB12’s personal cook once revealed the special regimen of Brady’s family
To perform at the highest level of the game, it requires an enormous amount of dedication and discipline. Brady has plenty of it, and one of the key factors that determines his strength is his diet. According to his personal chef, Allen Campbell, the former quarterback follows an 80/20 approach. “So, 80 percent of what they eat is vegetables. [I buy] the freshest vegetables,” he said, per Stylecaster.
“If it’s not organic, I don’t use it. And whole grains: brown rice, quinoa, millet, beans. The other 20 percent is lean meats: grass-fed organic steak, duck every now and then, and chicken,” Campbell had added. Even after seeking retirement, Brady follows a similar diet and continues to maintain his physique. It will be interesting to see how long this regime helps the NFL legend sail through the second phase of his career.
