The ‘Jimmy Garoppolo sin’ doesn’t seem to end any time soon. His tryst with injuries have always been a matter of discussion in the NFL world. While he was acquired by the Raiders this offseason, fans have been worried about his health, especially after the management delayed his introductory press conference. Although the Raiders’ top brass denied all these rumors, recent developments have strengthened the notion.

To make matters worse, as per PFT, Jimmy’s $11.25 Million salary bonus was shifted to his base salary, bringing his yearly payout to $22.5 Million, which he won’t get, in case he fails to clear physical tests. As a result, fans are now vouching for ‘owner’ Tom Brady to come back and lead the Raiders as a starting QB.

Can Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury force Brady to un-retire?

Garoppolo has long served as a backup to the seven-time Super Bowl champion during his tenure with the Patriots. He played for four years in New England before making a transition to San Francisco. He took up the starting job there and led the offensive unit to multiple division and conference titles.

However, Jimmy’s journey was largely affected by season-ending injuries. This trend seems to follow in Las Vegas as well. Back in March, his introductory press conference with the team was delayed. Fans were speculating about his failed physicals, but the quarterback dodged the scenario with a smart response.

“It was honestly talking, [contract] language, things like that,” Garoppolo said, per CBS Sports. “Both sides, I think, knew what we wanted to get done. It was very collaborative, actually, just us coming together,” he added.

The team’s physician will have a final verdict on Garoppolo’s availability, and obviously, they can release him anytime. While all these developments have stirred a new debate in LV, fans have started asking Brady to make a comeback to the field, because the veteran has been engaged in talks for minority ownership. “Tom Brady replacing Jimmy G again,” joked one of the followers. However, in all fairness, Brady’s second un-retirement seems like too far-fetched an idea as his 2022 season didn’t really turn out that well.

TB12 joins hands with Mark Davis to begin a new chapter in the NFL fraternity

For the last couple of years, Brady’s name has been associated with Sin City for buying stakes in the franchise. Since he was a player, it was not practically possible. But now the times have changed. As soon as Tom got the chance, he had a discussion with Raiders’ principal Owner Mark Davis, about owning a small chunk of this NFL team. Of course Davis said yes. After all, who wouldn’t want the best QB in football history, who has a massive loyal fanbase, to get associated with one’s franchise.

“We’re excited for Tom to join the Raiders,” Davis told ESPN. “It’s exciting because he will be just the third player in the history of the National Football League to become an owner,” he added. The deal is not yet finalized because it requires a green signal from 24 owners to get it done.

Coming back to Raiders’ playing unit, they have a massive QB problem to address. As Jimmy continues to struggles, fans want TB12 to change his mind and get back into the gridiron. It will be interesting to see how things eventually turn out for the team from Vegas.
