“I Think There Is Nobody Else But Me”: Justin Fields Boldly Puts Himself Over Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson In 2021 NFL Draft Class On Being Ready For The 2021 NFL Season

Justin Fields

Justin Fields is all ready to play in the NFL. Exuding confidence, the Bears rookie said that from the 2021 draft class, he’s the most ready.

Fields is getting ready to start training camp with the Chicago Bears, and from there on out, all that’s left between him and playing a real NFL game is the preseason.

Well, that and the fact that he’ll probably be Andy Dalton’s backup for the first few weeks. Head coach Matt Nagy has retained that Andy Dalton will start the year, but he hasn’t made any commitments as to when Fields will make his first career start.

However, that doesn’t bother the Bears rookie. He knows that when his time comes, he’s going to be ready for whatever the NFL has to throw at him.

When Will Justin Fields Start For The Chicago Bears?

The Bears have an absolute nightmare of a schedule coming right out of the gates. They start the year by playing the number one pass defense in the Los Angeles Rams.

Boasting superstars like Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald, the Bears will have their work cut out for them. Not only do they have to go in with a new quarterback, they also have many question marks on the offensive line.

Throwing Fields out there with a shaky o-line against the Rams defensive front doesn’t sound like a recipe for success. In week three, the Bears then face off against Myles Garrett and a new and improved defense. Once more, the Bears should be cautious and not start Fields too quick.

An optimal date looks to be week four against the Detroit Lions, a relatively weaker team with a defense that hasn’t shown any promise. Additionally, the Bears will play the Raiders the next week, another weaker team. Thus, Fields gets two proper games to get acclimated before a tougher set of games start.

However, given Fields’ mentality, he may push the Bears to start him earlier. He’s incredibly confident and trusts his abilities, but he should know that starting immediately isn’t always the best choice.

At the same time, it’s good to see a Bears quarterback be this confident after the years of horrific play at the position that fans have had to endure.
