Kyler Murray and Peyton Manning

Kyler Murray, the Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback, was carried off the field against the New England Patriots on Monday night due to a knee injury. Not just any injury either—it was a non-contact one.

On the game’s third play from scrimmage, Murray ran for three yards before stumbling without being touched. Murray was carried off the field with a towel over his head while being surrounded by teammates. Colt McCoy took his place.

The fourth-year quarterback at State Farm Stadium immediately fell to the ground after a 3-yard scramble, suffering a non-contact injury. The two-time Pro Bowler received a lot of sympathy and well-wishes from Cardinals supporters and impartial onlookers as he left the game. He recently signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension with $160 million guaranteed.

Peyton and Eli Manning React to Kyler Murray’s Injury

The Manning Cast on Monday Night Football on ESPN is typically a fun, quirky programme. However, things became eerily quiet three plays into the New England Patriots’ game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, two former NFL quarterbacks, were on the call for the game on Monday night and were preparing for more of their zany commentary. However, when they witnessed Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray fall awkwardly on the third play of the game as he attempted to slide at the conclusion of a scramble, the Manning Brothers fell silent.

Reluctant to comment on the severity of what they saw as the broadcast cut to commercial, both quarterbacks could be seen grimacing when a replay of the injury was shown.

Peyton Manning was dejected when he came back, and Arizona’s backup quarterback Colt McCoy took over at the helm as the game continued.

Peyton declared, “I’m sick to my stomach watching Kyler being carted off. I’m not sure if there could be anything worse. The game’s third play. I won’t try to figure out what it was. But he is on our prayers list. I’m hoping for a speedy recovery for him. I’m unwell. Hate to see that.”

More details about the injury are yet to be released.
