Patrick Mahomes is a proud endorser of Adidas, valued at $32.87B as per “macrotrends“, found a way to follow in Michael Jordan’s footsteps and avoid a major disaster. Mahomes was out sporting the Kansas City Royals jerseys for Friday’s Big Slick softball game. The MLB currently has a partnership with Nike for their jerseys which means the Royals jersey has a big Nike logo. However, Mahomes ensured he didn’t upset his company and found a way to hide the logo.

Mahomes is a loyal Adidas athlete, and his contract most likely stipulates that he can’t be seen in public settings wearing their archrivals’ gear or clothing. The Chiefs quarterback had to think a little outside the box in trying to cover up the logo, but in the end, he was successful. Of course, fans immediately noticed, and it isn’t hard to find a quick comparison to Michael Jordan’s methods during the Olympics when he had to hide Reebok’s logo.

Back in the 1992 Olympics, Jordan faced a similar crisis to Patrick Mahomes. Jordan, of course, has a lifetime deal with Nike, but he faced a problem when he played with Team USA.
Team USA was sponsored by Reebok, and at the Gold Medal ceremony, all players had to don the Team USA jackets with the Reebok logo on them. However, Michael Jordan wasn’t fazed. He draped the US flag over his shoulder in such a way that it hid the Reebok logo.

Mahomes also found a clever solution to his problem. He hid the Nike logo by sewing a light blue patch on top of it, protecting his deal with Adidas.

Well done Mahomes, just another way to emulate one of the greatest athletes of all time. Mahomes also had a custom mitt at the Big Slick game, embroidered with his number and in Chiefs colors.
Patrick Mahomes has a long history with Adidas
The Chiefs quarterback is smart to protect his deal with Adidas. He’s been with the company since he entered the NFL in 2017, and the partnership has only grown from there.
In 2021, Mahomes finally released his first signature shoe with Adidas, the Mahomes 1 Impact FLX, something he’s been dreaming about for a long time.
“I’ve dreamed about this since I was a little kid,” Mahomes said in a Twitter post. “Years in the making, excited to officially unveil my signature shoe.”
