Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs got the opportunity to visit the White House earlier this month. The entire affair was a fun one for those watching, with Chiefs players breaking into dances and whatnot. However, the highlight of the day (as always) was Travis Kelce, who had a few memorable moments up his sleeve for the public to enjoy. Though it seems, his private interactions with President Joe Biden were just as fun.

Travis Kelce is one of the best tight ends in NFL history. Many feel that he has already surpassed the talent and skills Rob Gronkowski had. Thanks to his prolific partner in crime, Patrick Mahomes, Kelce is charging his way into the history books. Though he may need to be careful the next time he visits the White House. President Joe Biden will surely keep an extra few eyes and arms on Kelce throughout.
Travis Kelce says he almost got kicked out of the White House
Travis Kelce talked about his visit to the White House with his brother Jason Kelce on ‘The New Heights’ show. In an earlier episode, Travis said that he would be tempted to enter the White House with a fake ID. When Jason asked if he went through with this, Travis revealed he gave security an expired driver’s license. To Travis’ shock, President Biden was somehow informed of this and confronted him on it.
“Ironically, the first thing that Mr. President Joe Biden said to me, immediately asked me where’s my ID. Those are those first words when I said, ‘Mr. President, it’s a pleasure to meet you’. He said, ‘Where’s this guy’s ID? Dude, where’s your ID?’ I was just like, ‘Oh no! They confiscated it at the door. I don’t have it on me’. I’m just like screaming, (he) looked at the Secret Service agents and said, ‘get this son of a b***h out of here’. and I was like, ‘No! I just got out here’,” Travis said of the encounter.
Kelce also admitted that in a bid to go all Nick Cage, he opened a few doors at the White House which he wasn’t suppose to open. However, he wasn’t able to find anything strange. Perhaps the most interesting moment of the afternoon was when Travis sneaked up to the Presidential podium and started speaking. Right after Patrick and Travis presented President Biden with a custom Chiefs jersey, Travis started slowly sneaking his way to the podium. Before he could say much, Patrick swooped in and dragged him away. Now, he reveals what he actually wanted to say on the podium.
“Obviously, the President at the podium is iconic, right? It’s iconic how he usually addresses the nation, ‘My fellow Americans’. And that’s all I wanted to say, dude. That’s it. I just wanted to go up there and say. I shouldn’t have started off with, ‘I’ve always wanted to do this’,” Travis said. To which, Jason replied, “If you would have started off with, ‘My fellow Americans’, that would have been such a showstopper.”
Kelce and Mahomes will be hoping to visit the White Houe again next year
As memorable as this year’s visit to the White House was, the Chiefs will want to do it all over again for the second time in a row. Maybe Travis will finally get to go on his “National Treasure Hunt” in the White House. Though for that to happen, he and Mahomes have to make sure the team performs to the best of their abilities this season. Especially given that there are some new kids on the block.
The arrival of Aaron Rodgers has boosted the New York Jets from a sidenote to a potential playoff spot challenger. Not to forget, the Las Vegas Raiders are all set to challenge the Chiefs in their division itself. The Bills and the Bengals are the ever-present danger that the Chiefs must expect, though they can surely make quick work of them as well. Will the Chiefs bag a second Super Bowl ring in two years?
