The star players were out to celebrate OBJ’s one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. The club held welcome signs in order to make them feel at home. Champagne was liberally sprayed on the two of them.
When the news broke, many questions popped up about Jackson’s future with the team. The Heisman winner had been trying to find the highest-paying guaranteed contract from the team but hasn’t had any success thus far. Will OBJ’s arrival change something between the Ravens and Lamar?
What does OBJ’s arrival mean for Lamar Jackson?
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the former Los Angeles Rams WR only agreed to play for Baltimore if Jackson remained the quarterback of the team.

OBJ signed an $18 million deal with incentives with the Ravens, while Jackson’s future is still not decided. The move reflected the team’s confidence that Jackson will play for them with or without a fully guaranteed contract. Many believe that the new deal will only bring positive outcomes for both parties.

Recently, the QB posted a screenshot of the video call he had with OBJ, in which the two players had big smiles on their faces and extended peace signs. Even though his new buddy signed with the team Jackson is currently with, many fans urged him to keep looking for teams that will give him more money and a guaranteed contract.
Can OBJ change things in Baltimore?
The Ravens paid $18 million to star receiver OBJ who is 30 years old and is coming off of two ACL tears in one year. There has been no other receiver whose annual salary has surpassed $11 million. However, the Ravens still showed faith in Beckham, who went to the Pro Bowl three times from 2014 to 2016.

Will Beckham prove the Ravens right? Will his presence guarantee Lamar’s presence in Baltimore? These questions are still unanswered but looking at how things are transpiring, chances are that the reply to both the queries will eventually turn out to be a firm YES.
