Odell Beckham Jr

The ongoing saga of Odell Beckham Jr. trying to find a team has not ended even after attending practices for multiple teams. OBJ has been looking for a new home since he healed from the second ACL tear of his NFL career. There have been a lot of problems along the way, but the biggest issue of all is that teams are not offering him deals that give him the desired amount of money. In the 2022 season, the Super Bowl-winning WR asked for a contract worth $20 million. But nothing came out of the request. Now, in 2023, the 30-year-old wide-out decreased his desired amount.

OBJ is now seeking a contract that would pay him $15 million annually. When this news came out, fans were not surprised. That is because Beckham has been flirting with different teams and asking for a different price. They are mostly frustrated because the receiver is not making a decision. Additionally, there are many analysts who think that asking for such a price is unacceptable for a player who will turn 31 in November and has dealt with multiple injuries.

Fans are not shocked after knowing how much OBJ is asking, but they think the WR does not deserve that type of amount

Many NFL fans expressed the same thought that the former Los Angeles Rams player does not deserve that type of contract. Partly because he has not played a single game for a year.

Odell Beckham Jr. put forth his request while he appeared at Arizona Biltmore on Tuesday this week. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer commented it was bold of Beckham to make his way to the hotel where the owners’ meetings were taking place. But this move showed the negotiations were still taking place. Did the fans support his request?

Many fans agreed the WR should ask for $11 million per year and not more than that.

Odell Beckham Jr. met these teams at NFL owners’ meeting

OBJ saw a little success at the workouts he did earlier this season. As a result, he was linked to several teams who might be interested in him. Hence, this allowed him to appear at the NFL owners’ meeting that is taking place right now. There, he met with two teams that may or may not pursue him. One was the Ravens, as per reported by NFL insider Josina Anderson. The second team was the Jets.

SNY’s Connor Hughes reported that Beckham Jr. also met the general manager and head coach of the New York Jets.

With Lamar Jackson leaving the team, the Ravens know that they need to find a powerful target for their new signal caller. But the Giants do not have such problems as they already have Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard Mecole Hardman, and Corey Davis on the roster.

Odell Beckham Jr. is expected to attend a lot more meetings given that teams like the Patriots, Giants, and Chiefs have also reportedly expressed interest in him.
