Mazi Smith, Micah Parsons

Michigan Defensive Tackle Mazi Smith has been roped in by the Dallas Cowboys in the ongoing 2023 NFL draft and Micah Parsons is over the moon. Picked up as the 26th overall by Dan Quinn’s unit, Mazi was rated No. 1 on the list of college football freaks by The Athletic‘s Bruce Feldman last year and one can understand exactly why.

A lot of teams had their eyes on the 6ft 3in tall DT who weighs a whopping 323 lbs. However, probably no other active NFL player wanted to play alongside him as desperately as Cowboys star Micah Parsons.

As reported by Bleacher Report, Micah was sitting patiently in the studio, however, as soon as the Cowboys announced that they have opted for Mazi, Parsons couldn’t stop himself from jumping up in delight. “Let’s go man!!,” Micah screamed in utter delight before showing the other panelists that he had texted Cowboys HC Dan Quinn to please go after Smith.

Dan wouldn’t let me down man,” the Dallas OL shouted after catching a breath. He then went on to shout, “no more QB sneaks AJ,” before finally sitting down on the couch. His reaction clearly shows how badly the team wanted Mazi on their unit and who knows, he might just turn out to be the missing piece of the puzzle which the team from Dallas hasn’t been able to solve for a long time.

However, Smith would now have to be extra careful about his off-field actions, now that he is a part of the most valuable franchise in the competition. In October last year, Mazi was arrested after he was found in possession of a gun without a proper concealed pistol license with him.
