As shown above, the Buccaneers will be going with their white jerseys with the pewter pants while Kansas City will be wearing their traditional red jerseys and white pants.
How Have The Buccaneers Performed In Their White Jerseys?
The Buccaneers obviously know what they’re doing by going with white jerseys. During the 2020-21 season, the Buccaneers went 5-0 with the white tops. Their last two wins with the white jerseys came in the postseason where they beat the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.
The Bucs first wore the white/pewter combo when they took on the Green Bay Packers in Week 6. The Buccaneers wearing white jerseys is a somewhat unusual move. The Buccaneers will be the “home” team, and usually the home team wears the darker color.
However, historically Tom Brady is always better in the biggest stage when he’s wearing the white jerseys. Here’s Brady’s records in each type of jerseys:
- White Jerseys: 4-1
- Darker Jerseys: 2-2
How Have The Chiefs Performed In Their Red Jerseys?
Kansas City also lucked out with the jersey selection. The Chiefs are good no matter what jersey they wear, but they’re especially good with the red ones.
During 2020-21 the Chiefs were 7-2 with the red/white combo with their most recent wins coming in the playoffs against the Browns and Bills.
Once again, the Chiefs have been good with the red jerseys in the big game. During the two championships they’ve won they were wearing the red jerseys including last year when the beat the 49ers 31-20.
Special Super Bowl 55 Patches
The Super Bowl jerseys are also going to have the iconic Super Bowl 55 patches imprinted on them.
