It was a great Friday for all the rookie quarterbacks who get an opportunity to meet the seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and discuss their future in the NFL. Tom shared crucial life advice that bolstered his journey to the top and allowed him to dominate the game for more than two decades. Brady met the top picks of the 2023 NFL draft, which included Alabama star Bryce Young, Ohio’s C.J. Stroud, Florida’s Anthony Richardson, and Kentucky product Will Levis.

The rookies were hosted at Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin’s home, and renowned rapper Tarvis Scoot also joined them for a memorable session. Not to mention, Brady caught all the spotlight for being the ultimate mentor who was seen passing on important advice to the next generation of QBs.
Tom Brady shares the secret mantra to remain at the top of the game
The Michigan star never had a smooth arrival in the NFL arena. When he was selected by Bill Belichick and his coaching staff in the 2000 NFL draft, he was the 199th pick. Nobody really gave much attention to Tom, nor did he receive support from his own home crowd.
But the gunslinger made sure that everyone recognized him one day. It was sheer consistency and passion for the game that drove him along the way. The 45-year-old recently tried instilling a similar thought process into the minds of these young QBs, who heard him with utmost curiosity.
“Alright, going in the second round — in the end, that’s not really that big of a deal,” Brady said in a video, per wgmd.com. “Going first overall — in the end, it’s not a big deal. It’s great, you’ve got an opportunity. You’re probably going to be paid more than anyone for a time period, but I was drafted 199. I just outlasted everybody,” he added, citing the example of his journey.
Tom also encouraged the young guns to build their respective personal brands, and provided them with tips to attain financial stability.
Brady says there are no shortcuts to success in pro football
When it comes to the NFL, winning a single regular season game happens to be a big deal. And then contending for the title every single year requires an enormous passion for the sport, something that Brady had throughout his career. He had a special message for Levis, who was disappointed going into the second round of the draft.
“When something goes wrong with Trav, or Mike with his company, with me, the only thing you can do is work harder, man,” Brady told Levis. Indeed, there are several examples in the league when players who were selected in the first round, got paid higher than anybody else, but failed to maintain their position in the later stages of their career.
Hence, it all comes down to handling the pressures and working incredibly hard to adapt to the ever-evolving nature of the sport.
