Snubbing Tom Brady, Skip Bayless Once Gave the Top Spot on His All-Time MT. Rushmore of Sports to Michael Jordan

A while ago, renowned analyst and co-host of UNDISPUTED, Skip Bayless rated top four best-performing athletes as part of his Mount Rushmore of sports. While he included the seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady on the list, it was surprising to see that he put him on the second spot and hailed Michael Jordan as the number-one athlete of all time.

Bayless, who once took a personal shot at fellow panelist Shannon Sharpe while defending the 7x Super Bowl champion, is known for hailing and backing Brady, irrespective of how he performs. This is why, innumerable football fans were caught off-guard when Skip didn’t give Tom the top spot on his list. However, he went on to explain the reasons behind making his top picks.

Skip Bayless placed Tom Brady below Air Jordan

Michael Jordan is a 14-time All-Star and five-time NBA MVP who achieved great laurels while playing for the Chicago Bulls. His accolades can’t be contained in a few pages of his Résumé. Hence, one can understand why Skip placed him on his GOAT list. “Michael Jordan was a supremely talented overachiever. He was better than anyone else, and he worked harder than anyone else,” Bayless had claimed while talking about MJ, per FOXSports.

The second person on his list was Tom Brady, who is regarded as the greatest NFL quarterback of all time. Talking about Tom, Bayless said, “Tom Brady [is the] ultimate wolf in sheep’s clothing. In his first six Super Bowls, he won with game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime.

Then the third greatest athlete to grace the list was former heavyweight champion boxer and Olympic gold medalist, Muhammad Ali. The last person on Skip’s list was the five-time Masters winner, Tiger Woods. Winner of 14 major championships, Woods is undoubtedly the most dominant player in PGA history. About Woods, Bayliss claimed that it was unfathomable for him to make sense of how he has “risen above all and has conquered so many injuries”.

Bayless thinks ‘Owner’ TB12 might fire Josh McDaniels

Skip’s favorite QB Brady, recently moved on from his NFL career and bought a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. As one of the owners, Brady has authority and power over the head coach, Josh McDaniels. Bayless thinks that if McDaniels fails to churn out impressive performances, the team, influenced by Tom, might make the decision to get rid of him.

Is Brady’s ownership stake a good thing for Josh because obviously he had a lot of success with Josh?” I’m sure he loves him. But if I know [No. 12] the way I think I do, if it’s not working on the field, the [minority] owner will say ‘next,‘” Skip recently claimed.

However, it is unlikely that Tom will get too involved in the internal matters of the franchise. He is a leader who believes in backing people and we can expect him to show the same level of patience as an owner which he portrayed as a player.
