“This talk about losing his rights if he got his shot… B.S.!”: O.J. Simpson blasts Cole Beasley for not getting the vaccine

Buffalo Bills WR Cole Beasley made headlines after he publically said that he did not intend on getting vaccinated. But with the new NFL Covid-19 protocols, Beasley could cost his team to forfeit a game. And O.J Simpson was not having it.

The NFL is expected to have NFL games at full capacity. While the NFL can’t control fans and external forces, they can control their teams and players. Therefore, they released a memo dictating what could happen if players don’t vaccinate themselves.

Last year, the NFL repeatedly had to reschedule games due to Covid outbreaks within teams, but this is something they won’t be doing this year. As a result, the team responsible for the Covid outbreak may have to forfeit the game entirely.

Cole Beasley has been vocal about his discontent with the vaccine for the entirety of this offseason. “I will be outside doing what I do,” he wrote in a statement posted to social media. “I’ll be out in the public. If your (sic) scared of me then steer clear, or get vaccinated. Point. Blank. Period. I may die of covid, but I’d rather die actually living.

O.J. Simpson says Cole Beasley should sit the season out.

“Now I’m watching the Buffalo Bills,” said Simpson. “I’m watching (Cole) Beasley and I like Beasley. I love how he played for the Bills last year, but this talk about losing his rights if he got his shot… B.S.! You don’t have a right to drive at 0.08 alcohol consumption in your blood. You don’t have a right to drive over 80 miles per hour…. Those are safety issues. This whole thing is about safety–public safety–it’s not about your rights.”

“I like what (Jerry) Hughes, defensive end for the Bills, is saying,” Simpson added. “Look man, what the league says now is that you’re not gonna get paid if you get COVID and it costs the team games. You don’t have the right to cost your teammates a game check. You’re taking food off their table! You don’t have the right to put them in jeopardy health-wise. You don’t have the right to do that. My suggestion is opt out. If you don’t want to get the shot, don’t play. I’m sure you’ve got enough money to last you, but you don’t have the right to put your team in financial and physical jeopardy.”

Cole Beasley obviously didn’t opt-out and doesn’t intend to sit out unless the Bills cut him. The slot receiver is far too important to Buffalo to get released, but he will face fines if he does not follow protocols.
