Thursday Night Football Gets an 'AI Upgrade' as Amazon Gears Up to Break Broadcasting Barriers in 2023

Amazon has recently announced the launch of its second broadcasting platform, Prime Vision, which is completely going to revolutionize the way games are broadcasted. Prime Vision is set to break all conventional broadcasting boundaries using artificial intelligence to provide a customizable viewing experience for Thursday Night Football starting this season.

Amazon’s debut in broadcasting TNF last year proved to be a resounding success after Prime Video averaged 9.58 million per game viewership. However, this year Jeff Bezos’ company is trying to up the game by a huge margin. As per reports, Amazon is training a special AI model by helping it understand the nitty-gritty of football to enhance the watching experience.

Prime Vision To Make Thursday Night Football More Interesting

Amazon has added 20 new features in their broadcasting game which is going to be a game changer in the world of sports. However, the viewers would still have the option to switch between a traditional broadcast and the new AI-powered broadcast. But it still won’t be in 4k.

One of their biggest changes in the new broadcast is that it will display a second line just on third downs. The new line will show where the team needs to reach just to make a smart choice whether to punt or make another play. Furthermore, upon reaching that line, it will even show what specific play the offense needs to make based on their position in the field.

The next biggest upgrade that Amazon has made using AI is to predict the blitzer before the snap. After training its AI model using advanced analytics on body positioning and the formation of both teams, Prime Vision will predict which player is going to blitz on the upcoming snap.

With such big upgrades coming to the streaming service, it is only going to enhance the way a viewer consumes the game. With this, Amazon will pave the way for other broadcasting services to up the game after changing the sports viewing experience at such a drastic level.

Amazon Makes TNF Great Again With a Customizable Viewing Experience

Not only has Amazon stepped up in improved analytics but has also joined other broadcasters and other popular online streams such as Uninterrupted and Dude Perfect. Viewers will be given a choice to toggle between their preferred broadcasters and analysts live during the game eventually giving fans control over what they like to view.

This is completely revolutionizing the way fans watch games. And one can only imagine what will come next. Maybe a concept to let viewers compare player stats mid-game or bet on the game while watching it live? Only time will tell.
