Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and probably the most accomplished athlete from the Brady clan. But in reality, the veteran was a late bloomer and inherited the legacy from his family. A crucial role in his success was played by his three elder sisters, who excelled at their respective fields, and Brady, as a young boy, tried copying them. It is fair to say he came into prominence under the shadow of his sisters.

Tom Brady was always a baby brother to his other siblings, who inflicted a passion for sports on him. Being in a highly competitive atmosphere, it became essential for the youngster to cope with his sisters and carve his own niche. Certainly, the former NFL quarterback succeeded in his mission. Even today, while he reigns on the throne of accomplishments, Brady recalls the support from his family.
Tom Brady has three athletic sisters
Brady Sr. and his wife, Galynn, were not much into the world of sports. However, they often encouraged their kids to follow their passion, and sports became their priority. They shared four children, three daughters and a son, Tom Brady. Their oldest daughter Maureen was an avid softball pitcher, who found a spot on the Junior Olympic team at 17.
Subsequently, she was inducted into the San Mateo County Sports Hall of Fame. Brady’s middle sister, Julie, starred as a soccer player in high school. She pursued the sport for a while and earned a full scholarship to St. Mary’s.
His third sister, Nancy, one year older than Tom Brady, followed in the footsteps of Maureen. She excelled in softball and earned a scholarship to the University of California. All these esteemed sports cultures provided Brady with an adequate atmosphere to choose a sport and play it in high school. Hence, it would be fair to conclude that Tom is definitely not the only professional sporting icon from his family. Interestingly, football was never Brady’s first choice. He played baseball and basketball before opting for a career in the NFL.
Brady clan has a lot of hope from Maya
With Tampa Tom retiring from pro football, it’s time for his kids and nieces to shine in the sports world. In fact, they have already entered the arena. Maureen’s daughter Maya has begun ruling the softball field, playing for the UCLA Bruins. Recently, the NFL legend attended a game and supported his niece by sending warm wishes on social media. “I love you Uncle Tommy. Thank you for coming!!!!” Maya commented on the post.
Back in the day, the veteran heaped praise on Maya, saying that she was already a big star and a worthy representative of the Brady family. “Maya is already the most athletic person in the family,” Brady said in an interview, per Business Insider.
Meanwhile, Brady’s first kid Jack has also started playing quarterback for his high school team. It will be interesting to see how far the young Bradys reach in their sporting endeavors.
