Tom Brady, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is having a nightmare season that has even cost him his marriage. Moreover, he no longer appears to be respected by a few of his fellow players. Brady was made fun of by the opposing players after Sunday’s defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made headlines earlier this week when he claimed that the Bengals were “fairly tough” in the most recent episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast (via Ben Baby of ESPN.com).

In the first half, the Bengal’s defense most definitely didn’t appear to be “fairly tough” on defense. After giving up the game’s opening 17 points, the visitors finally broke the scoreless tie with a field goal from kicker Evan McPherson at the end of the second quarter.

However, Cincinnati’s defense took complete control in the second half, causing Brady to commit four errors (two interceptions and two forced fumbles). In addition, the special teams unit compelled a turnover on downs after Cincinnati’s botched fake punt play.

Before giving up a garbage time touchdown, Cincinnati scored 34 unanswered points thanks to Joe Burrow and the offence who didn’t waste the opportunities. Brady’s “fairly tough” remarks were not forgotten by B.J. Hill and Eli Apple of the after the visitors’ 34-23 victory.

Tom Brady’ remarks on Bengals’ defense attracts backlash from Eli Apple

Brady appeared on the Let’s Go! Podcast ahead of the NFL’s Week 15 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and had some less-than-optimistic things to say about the defending American Conference champions’ defence.

Excellent squad, talented young quarterback, and solid defence. skillful players, “said Brady. “They excel at many different things. We’ll have to give it everything we’ve got, like every resource we have. physically, mentally, and emotionally.”

“This time of year, there are many distractions that can divert your attention from what is most important. But if we want to defeat a strong team, we must give it everything we’ve got,” he had added.

What bothered Bengals players most about this entire statement was the “fairly tough defence,” and after Cincinnati’s 34-23 victory on Sunday, both Eli Apple and B.J. Hill responded in the locker room, which was caught on camera.

The future is now old man,” Eli said about Tom and adding onto the insult, Hill said, “we’re fairly tough on defense, remember that.”
