Derek Carr has announced he’ll be leaving the Raiders organization through a heartfelt goodbye message on social media. Where will the Raiders QB land?

For years, Derek Carr has been a bright spot for the Raiders team. He was their quarterback, and there were no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Carr was fantastic whenever he played, putting up numbers year after year for a team that didn’t do much to maximize the talent on their roster.
Of course, the Raiders have dealt with many issues off the field including Jon Gruden’s controversy and Henry Ruggs’ incident, and aside from a couple of playoff runs, they haven’t seen much success in Derek Carr’s time.
The problem with the Raiders extended to their defense mostly. Carr couldn’t be blamed for how poorly they performed especially when you look at the Raiders’ defense rankings every year.

The one season the Raiders looked threatening, Derek Carr suffered an injury that took him out for the playoffs. That year, Carr was the leading MVP candidate until he suffered the injury.

You can tell he still wants to compete, and given his play, he still can play at a high level and is definitely better than many of the starting quarterbacks in the league. Carr will definitely find a landing spot.
Where will Derek Carr land? Top 3 landing spots for Derek Carr
1. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have a major incentive to trade for Derek Carr. Since Andrew Luck’s retirement, they have failed to find a franchise quarterback. The likes of Phillip Rivers, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, and Jacoby Brissett have come and gone as temporary stopgaps, but none of them truly impressed.
Carr fits the model perfectly for the Colts. He’s a gunslinger, and he’s a player who can elevate the play of those around him. The only thing that might stop this from happening is the Colts wanting to gamble on a rookie quarterback in the NFL draft.
2. Washington Commanders
The Commanders are in a similar boat to the Colts where they never found a successful quarterback to take over the job after losing Kirk Cousins.
They’ve had a myriad of players take over the quarterback position, but again, none of them were franchise guys. The Commanders have done well to stay competitive and make the playoffs multiple times despite the lack of a true stable quarterback, and Derek Carr could help solidify that position.
3. New Orleans Saints
New Orleans has Jameis Winston in their back pocket, but Carr would surely be an upgrade over the former Buccaneers quarterback. Winston has improved since coming to New Orleans, but he still hasn’t matched Carr’s consistency.
The Saints have top tier offensive weapons in Michael Thomas, Chris Olave, and Alvin Kamara, and Carr could be just the guy to take full advantage of the talent around him.
