D.K Metcalf more than held his own after going against world-class sprinters in the USATF Golden Games. He finished with a very respectable 10.36 time, coming in 15th out of 17 total participants. And Patrick Mahomes was quick to call on Tyreek Hill to give the 100m dash a shot.

D.K Metcalf impressed all of the NFL world after running a blistering 10.36 second 100 Metre sprint. Which was especially amazing considering his massive 6 foot 4 220+ pound frame.

“These are world-class athletes,” Metcalf said afterwards on NBC streaming service Peacock, which broadcast the event when asked whether he learned anything by competing in the event in Walnut, California. “They do this for a living. It’s very different from football speed, from what I just realized. So, like I said, just excited to be out here.”

Patrick Mahomes challenged his teammate Tyreek Hill

Both Mahomes and Hill gave props to the freakish wide receiver, with Mahomes calling Metcalf’s time “crazy” and Hill opting for “scary.” And then Mahomes tweeted Tyreek to try his hand.

Tyreek Hill is one of, if not the fastest man in the NFL, having terrorised NFL defences with his blistering pace for years. Hill was also a track star in high school. He was a high school track All-American who ran 10.19 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a 20.14 200-meter dash, which at the time missed the high school record by one one-hundredth of a second.

At the World Junior Championships, he won the bronze medal in the 200-meter dash and a gold medal as part of the 4×100-meter relay team. To put that high school 200-meter time into perspective, it would have placed sixth in the most recent Summer Olympics.

The NFL world reacted to Metcalf’s sprint.
