Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians have been the most successful team in the brief history of the IPL, as the Mukesh and Nita Ambani owned franchise has managed to create a family spirit that has fostered a wonderful ecosystem for success.

Last year’s champions have a tough task in choosing the players that they want to retain, as they have an embarrassment of riches that any team would benefit form having in their team.

The only player who is surely going to retained by MI is their captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit grew up in Mumbai, is the local boy who has captained his city team to much success over the past ten years.

Rohit himself has been an IPL legend, as no man has more IPL trophies than the Hitman. He has captained MI to three IPL titles, after having won one with the Deccan Chargers back in 2009.

Now firmly established as one of the batsmen in the world and competent captain, Rohit is definitely one player that MI can ill afford to lose, as they can build another era with Rohit at the helm.

The problem lies with the other players, as Mumbai need to decide among the Pandya brothers, Malinga, Bumrah, Harbhajan and Pollard to name a few.

With Mumbai Indians very much being a family team, don’t be surprised to see all the above players find a way back into Mumbai, after the end of the IPL auction.

Official news coming through :

Mumbai have officially retained Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah
