OG Dota 2 roster

OG took to Twitter to announce that the chat wheel god, Sébastien ‘CEB’ Debs is rejoining the team. But, Syed ‘Sumail’ Hassan, one of the best in the game and part of OGs roster has been released.

Ceb is one of the veterans of DOTA2. He has won multiple tournaments with OG, both as a coach and as a player.

He reunification with the team comes at a very key time. The Omega League DOTA2 tournament will start from August 1 and end on September 6. The event will feature the top 10 teams of the game: OG, Team Secret, Nigma, Team Liquid, Alliance, NiP, Virtus Pro and Na’Vi.

CEB’s history with OG

Ceb joined the OG team as their coach. His skill and talent immediately translated into results for the team. While he was the coach, he guided the team to victory in all the 4 majors that were held in the season.

After one of his players departed from the team in 2018, he acted as a stand-in player until June. With time closing for TI8, he officially filled the position of offlaner for oG in TI 2018. The team went on the win  The International for the next two years.

Earlier in 2020, Ceb announced that he would leave the active roster to focus on the internal functions of the organisation. His rejoining as a player will be happy news for many of the fans.

The OG DOTA 2 Roster

Between Sumail’s departure and Ceb joining, the team is now a better balanced. Ceb is the more cautious playmaker who sets his teammates up to scale in the game. With Sumail out of the safe-lane, it will be interesting to see if Ceb takes over his role as a carry, or will return to his former role of off-lane. If Ceb does go back to his off-lane role, we can expect Topias ‘Topson’ Taavitsainen to take over as safelaner while Yeik Nai ‘Midone’  Zheng could return to mid.

However, it seems simpler for Ceb to take on the responsibilities of Sumail as a carry. This will also allow him to dictate the tempo of the game.

The Omega League

This is the DOTA2 dream league. 10 of the best teams in Europe and America will face off against each other beginning August 1.  This one-of-a-kind DOTA2 league will certainly be the best DOTA2 tournament this summer. The teams will compete for a prize pool of $550,000. The main event will start on the 14th of August and last until September 6, with a total of two series played per team each week.
