DOTA2 Omega League: European Closed Qualifiers start tomorrow; Where to watch Omega League closed Qualifiers

DOTA 2 Omega League’s European CQs begin tomorrow. The top 16 teams from Europe will play in 4 groups and battle from August 1st to 9th. The two winners will be seeded in the immortal division with a prize pool of $500,000.

The Omega League by OG pits the top 10 DOTA 2 teams from Asia, America and Europe for a prize pool of $500,000. It promises to be the best DOTA 2 action of this summer. Before the real action begins, the tournament will kick off with the European Closed Qualifiers. 16 teams battle it to make it to the top two. These two teams will then join the immortal division and compete for $500,000.

The European Closed Qualifiers

The European Closed Qualifiers will take place between August 1st and August 9th. A total of 16 teams from all over Europe will compete in a Group stage. Out of the 8 teams, 8 teams were invited while 8 teams are selected from across Europe. The top 4 teams have been chosen from Southeast Europe and Northwest Europe.

The teams are split into 4 groups with 4 teams each. All matches are best-of-3.  The top 2 teams from each group advance to the playoffs which will happen on August 8th and 9th.

OMEGA League Closed Qualifier Teams

Group A

Team Empire, KHAN, Cyber Legacy, 5Comrades

Both Empire and Cyber Legacy are favourites in this group. Most of  Natus Vincere that was dropped in the last 3 months have been recruited by CIS. The team looks like a powerhouse and they are sure to top the group with Alliance coming second.

Group B

HellRaisers, Voldermort, Team 4, EXTREMUM

Although the HellRasiers are favourites to win the group, they may be in for a hard time. Voldermort, the team came out second in the Northwest playoffs, showed amazing coordination and skill use which enabled them to outplay sticky situations. Extremum also performed well in the Southwest playoffs. HellRaisers may have a harder time than expected.

Group C

B8, 5Men, Tempo, Motaci

The powerhouse that is B8 with Dendi is the obvious favourites in this group. Dendi has immense experience navigating through these playoffs. He has led many times with amazing comebacks. B8 could very well go to the playoffs.

Group D

Team Ukraine, Vikin.gg, E-corp, Cyberium.S

Viking.gg will definitely end up winning this group. Their recent performance against some of the top teams in Europe have shown last month. They will surely be feeling confident about winning against their opponents especially with their experienced roster

19:00 – 5men vs. Tempo

The live stream will be available on the Twitch handles of both EPIC Esports and WePlay! Both of these organisations have experience in this space and are very big.
