On This Day: Robin Van Persie scored hattrick to seal Manchester United's 20th title

On This Day: Robin Van Persie scored a hattrick for Manchester United to help them seal their 20th title victory and last by SAF.

Robin Van Persie was hired by sir Alex Ferguson to make him guarantee the last Premier League title of this career, and so was the Dutch International desperate to clinch the title for once.

Van Persie gave many years of his career to Arsenal but he never managed to lift the league title, compelling him to accept the offer made by Manchester United.

On the other hand, Alex Ferguson was in search of vengeance as the last-minute title win by Manchester City last season left him with a bitter taste, thus Van Persie who was at the peak of his career back then was key for him to win.

As expected the Dutch International paired up with Wayne Rooney quickly and ran riot in the Premier League, which allowed the team to be the champions on this day, 7 years ago while playing against Aston Villa.

Apart from that, Van Persie played another important role on that night as he scored a hat-trick to seal the title for the Red Devils, which proved to be the last title in the glorious career of Ferguson.

To put a cherry on the cake, Van Persie scored a stunning volley to score one of the goals. This level of performances made Van Persie the player of the season.

Now, the team is by far from the level which it as back then, but the management of the club is trying to reach back to its glory days gradually and have shown signs of improvement.
