The Tottenham manager has been under fire for quite some time now
His recent failures with Tottenham aren’t the only reason Jose Mourinho is considered as done with as a manager. The Portuguese has endured torrid outings with his last couple of clubs as well with the manager failing to impress at any of those jobs.
After a solid start to life at Tottenham, Mourinho has typically unravelled as a manager. And as the results stop swinging his way, he becomes a petulant old hag, a man who isn’t the most endearing of names to either his club’s supporters or players.
Decadent Mourinho is also known to come up with outlandish public statements when things aren’t quite working out for him. And the same was on show recently as well with Mourinho claiming he was still one of the most important managers in the game.
Mourinho Defends Himself
Giving an interview during the international break, Mourinho talked about the criticism directed his and Tottenham’s way off late.
“I don’t think anybody is going to discuss rocket science with the guys from NASA,” Mourinho said. “But everyone around the world thinks they can discuss football with one of the most important managers in the game.
“That’s the beauty of football and I have got used to it. I appreciate it and that’s fine for me.”
“Honestly I get my strength from myself but mainly from the people that I love and the people that I know love me,” he added. “Many of them I don’t know and have never met. I used to call them Mourinhistas.’
After sitting comfortable in the top 4 of the Premier League, Tottenham have gradually drifted away from the Champions League spots. The side’s worst performance of the season came in a 3-0 training at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb, a match which saw the club crash out of the Europa League.
Mourinho had subsequently gone on a rampage as he directed an incredible outburst as his players, belittling them and their lack of character for the defeat.
