Paige: WWE Superstar opens up on her frustrations with the WWE

Paige: WWE Superstar opens up on her frustrations with the WWE regarding her lack of TV time despite being in charge of an incredibly talented tag team.

Paige is one of the most well-known wrestlers in the world today. The English star has charmed the WWE audience since her debut in April 2014 up to her unfortunate retirement in April 2018. Naturally the WWE where unwilling to let her leave and began using her in a non-wrestling capacity.

She went from managing Absolution (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville) to becoming the General Manager of SmackDown. Despite being brilliant at both, Paige had to vacate her position as the GM. The decision was made after WWE decided to do away with authority figures.

Paige came back to the WWE once again but this time as the manager of Asuka and Kairi Sane. The women dubbed themselves as Kabuki Warriors. Asuka and Kairi Sane looked like they were next in line to wear the WWE women’s tag team championships around their waist. However, the women have found TV time hard to come by. Made even harder now after the introduction of the WildCard rule.

This has not just been frustrating for the fans but for their manager as well. Paige had lobbied to be given a chance at managing the two Japanese ladies because she was in awe of their talent but is now frustrated at being put at the backburner by the writers.

Paige speaks up

The Mix have reported Paige saying:

“If we don’t get used, I get really frustrated because we’re a good tag team and we need to be utilised.”

“Sometimes the writers have so much on their plate with everyone else’s storylines, they put things on the backburner.”

“I have to remind them, ‘Ok, but there is a women’s tag team title…’”

“I’m like, ‘What the hell dudes? Let’s make something happen.’”

The former Diva’s champion then revealed that it was easier speaking with Triple H and Vince McMahon then the writers.

“If you go up to writers it’s like talking to a brick wall sometimes. Whereas if you go to Vince and Hunter, they’re like, ‘If you have a problem, we can change that for you.’”

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
