Pakistan vs Bangladesh Memes: Twitter reactions on Shaheen Afridi registering best figures in World Cup by Pakistani bowler

Pakistan vs Bangladesh Memes: Twitter witnessed some hilarious memes as Pakistan get eliminated from 2019 Cricket World Cup.

During the 43rd match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Lord’s, Pakistan fast bowler Shaheeh Shah Afridi registered the best bowling figures by a Pakistani bowler in a World Cup match.

The 19-year old left-arm fast bowler’s maiden five-wicket haul played a pivotal role in dismissing Bangladesh on 221 in 44.1 overs in a 316-run target. Introduced as the first-change bowler in the ninth over, Afridi picked up the big wicket of Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal (8) in his second over.

An economic praiseworthy first spell of 4-0-12-1 was followed by Afridi breaking a 58-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das (32) on the first ball of his second spell. In the third and last over of his second spell, Afridi also dismissed the highest run-scorer of the tournament in Shakib (64).

The two major blows had undoubtedly reduced the opposition’s chances of winning the World Cup. In the first over of his third spell, an in-form Afridi sent back Mohammad Saifuddin (0) and Mahmudullah (29) to further dent the opposition. In Mahmudullah, Afridi found his fifth victim for the first time in his 19-match ODI career.

Bangladesh’s last wicket in the 45th over saw Afridi registering bowling figures of 9.1-0-35-6.

In the first innings, a 157-run partnership between Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam for the second wicket which laid a solid foundation for Pakistan. While Azam (96) narrowly missed out on his 11th ODI century, Imam registered his seventh ODI century. Before getting out in the 42nd over, Imam ended up scoring 100 (100) with the help of seven fours.
