Paul Pogba injury update

Paul Pogba injury update: The Manchester United midfielder faced a knock in the game against Burnley earlier this week.

Manchester United have been in fine form since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The side has won eight of the nine games under his charge.

Solskjaer’s side dropped points for the first time earlier this week when they took on Burnley. The side made a brilliant comeback from 2-0 down to draw level in injury time.

However, United fan had a concern as the match came to an end. Paul Pogba, who has stepped up brilliantly under Solskjaer, was seen limping across the field. Even when he scored the first of the two goals, the fears grew.

It was earlier reported that Pogba has been sent for scans, and now, Solskjaer has provided an update on him as Manchester United takes on Leicester at King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Paul Pogba injury update:

The midfielder was feared injured after the game against Burnley but Solskjaer has now provided an update over the midfielder’s fitness.

“We’ve not had a proper session since the game so hopefully both of them [Pogba and Martial] can get through,” Solskjaer said.

“I don’t think there’s anything with Paul.”

The caretaker manager also had an update on Anthony Martial’s fitness, insisting that he expects him to be involved in the Leicester game.

“Anthony will do some rehab work I would imagine him to be involved, he seemed happy yesterday,” the Norwegian said.

Anthony Martial signed a new five-year contract at the club yesterday and Solskjaer looked upbeat while discussing the new deal.

“It’s a confirmation that we are happy, with him,” said Solskjaer.

“We believe in him. He’s got fantastic potential, he’s had ups and downs, he’s been top scorer, he’s been developing, as a young lad moving abroad it’s not easy but he knows he’s going to stay here for the coming future and I believe in him.

“[He can be] very good, he’s a fantastic finisher, great ability, he’s young, he’s intelligent, knows his football.

“I’d like him to do a couple more runs in behind but I’ve not seen many players with the quick feet and the skills in the last third as he has so we’re gonna build his career and hopefully he’ll grab the chance with both feet.”
