Paul Pogba: Man Utd name price tag for Real Madrid bound midfielder

Manchester United have named the required price tag for their midfielder Paul Pogba.

Manchester United will face a huge fight to keep their star Paul Pogba post-summer. The French International moved for a then-Premier League record fee of £79 million in 2015, but he has failed to prove his mettle with inconsistency outshining him throughout his Red Devils stint.

Pogba and Mourinho endured a difficult relationship this season, which lead to the sacking of the Portuguese International. The World Cup winner was difficult to control when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the club, but he has slumped over the last few months.

He has attracted interest from numerous club, including Real Madrid. When Zinedine Zidane was asked about Pogba, he remained light-tipped over the transfer, but tipped him to become the best.

“Pogba is a good player, a player I know, but that’s it,” Zidane told at news conference. “I’m not going to get into these things, this nonsense.

“If you ask me about Pogba, I’ll tell you he’s a Manchester United player. He’s very good but he’s a Manchester United player. When the season is over, we’ll see what transfers there will be.”

Paul Pogba was also asked about the same when he was with France on International duty.

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Pogba said in a press conference on international duty.

“There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football. For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester and I’m happy.”

There is no doubt about the mutual understanding between Paul Pogba and Zinedine Zidane. The French International has turned down a new contract after the failure to qualify for the Champions League which resulted in a 25% pay cut for the players. He wants astronomical wages similar to Alexis Sanchez, but it is rather unlikely for the club to shell out that amount.

On the other hand, Manchester United will be vowed to listen only if they receive an offer worth £150 million in the summer transfer window, according to the English publication Independent. Besides the transfer fee, £500,000 per week wage demand will be another stumbling block for the Los Blancos.

Zinedine Zidane remains keen on the midfielder, although the club is assessing their options to lure Christian Eriksen to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer. The club are also ready to sell Keylor Navas to fund move for Pogba.

What’s next?

If the transfer fee is not altered, it remains unlikely for Paul Pogba to move away from Manchester United.
