Paul Pogba has made no bones about his desire to leave Manchester United and ply his trade somewhere else. His desperation to play in whites at the Bernabeu is as clear as day and the Spanish Giants are also willing to bring him to the Spanish capital. According to dailymail, Manchester United are set to offer a huge pay rise to their wantaway star in hopes that it will keep him from moving. The club is reportedly ready to shell out a mind boggling £500,000 per week. This is a tremendous increase from the £290,000-a-week pay he currently earns and would bring him in line with United’s top earner, Alexis Sanchez.
Contrasting response to the news within the camp
Paul Pogba still has two years left on his deal, with United having the option to extend it by 12 months. However, the world cup winner has become increasingly vocal about wanting to leave United. With Madrid and Juventus lurking in a bid to bring the star player to their respective folds; United are now desperate to hold on to him. United chief Ed Woodward remains adamant about not selling Pogba. He believes that he is as central to the club’s commercial interests as he is on the pitch.
However, this news has not been met with glee by the coaching staff and players. The reports claim that while many would prefer the French star to say, they recognise him the negative influence he brings to the team when he’s unhappy.
