Paul Pogba to Real Madrid: Manchester United star's transfer to Los Blancos moves 'one step closer'

Paul Pogba is ready to take a pay cut to move to Real Madrid in the summer window.

Manchester United are in extreme difficulty after missing out on the Champions League. The Red Devils will struggle to keep their two best players, Paul Pogba and David De Gea, who are likely to move on after insisting their stance by not signing a new deal.

Zinedine Zidane also spoke about his admiration for Paul Pogba, adding more fuel to the transfer rumour. At the other side, Paul Pogba had mutual admiration, rightfully so, as the midfielders hail from the same country and played a cardinal part in World Cup triumphs as well.

Amidst the ongoing conundrum at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old is wanting to move away from the club. He is ready to force a move from the English outfit, but his wage demands were set to be a worry for Zinedine Zidane. But, he is ready to alter his demands in order to land up in the capital city of Madrid.

Paul Pogba is among the top earners at United – on around 290,000 per week, but the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo have claimed that the Los Blancos are unwilling to splash a huge sum. Even though the numbers are set to be learned, the World Cup winner is ready to take a pay cut to force a move away from his current club.

His departure will mean the obvious – worrying signs about the club sinking more. But, the Red Devils have already lined up a replacement, should he made a departure from the club.

Lyon midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, who has been watched by hundreds of scouts this season is on top of the shortlist if his compatriot Pogba moves to Spain this window. The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe this season and has been perceived by plenty of clubs. He is available for a fee just under €70 million.
