Phil Coutinho removes all mention of Barcelona from his Instagram Bio amidst speculations that he will not be a part of the Catalan side’s set up this season.
Oh, how times change. A year and a half back, Phil Coutinho joined Barcelona as their biggest signing ever. The transfer to Barcelona was a dream move that has since become a nightmare.

He barely started matches last season and when ever he was given the opportunity he failed to shine. He was the biggest star in Liverpool. They cheered for him at Anfield but in Catalonia he was repeatedly booed by his own fans.
With Antoine Griezmann’s signing, the Brazilian has slipped further down the totem pole. It has been reported that his days at Barcelona are numbered. He has been linked with a move to Liverpool. The former Liverpool playmaker is said to still hold the club close to his heart.
Liverpool or PSG?
Kia Joorabchian, his agent had said:
“I think Liverpool lies very, very deeply in his heart; he was a big fan of them throughout the campaign [last season].”
“He was wishing for them to win the title and he has a very strong affinity there so I think it will be very difficult for him to go to a direct competitor of Liverpool from a personal standpoint.”
The player has now added more fuel to fire after removing all mention of Barcelona from his Instagram Bio. The part where he had previously written ‘Player of Barcelona’ is now just a blank.

The Brazilian is also linked to a swap deal with PSG for Neymar, the man he was ironically bought in to replace. At the moment there is no clarity on Phil Coutinho’s future but it is safe to say that he most likely doesn’t have a future at Barcelona anymore. Could we perhaps see him in Liverpool’s reds once again or will he be wearing the Parisian blues? Guess we’ll just have to wait and watch.
