Philippe Coutinho's hat-trick

Philippe Coutinho’s hat-trick against Werder Bremen marks as one the best individual performances in this Bundesliga season.

Bayern Munich is not ready to quit their title challenge even though they have struggled to go past RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach this season.

But with a phenomenal performance by Philippe Coutinho, Bayern Munich was able to defeat Werder Bremen by 5-1 to still keep them in the title contention.

On the other side, Coutinho, who came on loan from Barcelona has finally started performing for the Bavarians. In the last 2-3 games, Coutinho has been exceptional, but last night, the Brazilian was absolutely world-class.

The 27-year-old player scored a hattrick and gave two assists to save trailing Bayern Munich against Werder Bremen. The Brazilian international was involved in all the goals scored by Bayern Munich.

Thus, it shows how significant the role Coutinho played in the Bavarians win last night. Coutinho was even impressive in Bayern Munich’s win against Tottenham Hotspur in the last group game in the Champions League.

The Barcelona midfielder had an underwhelming campaign last year and became a victim of mass criticism by Barcelona fans, which also influenced his exile from the club for a year.

The Catalans signed him for a club record-breaking fee from Liverpool, only to make him leave the club in less than 18 months. Bayern Munich has an option to turn his loan deal into a permanent transfer and if Coutinho continues to perform like this, then the Bavarians can break their bank for him.

Meanwhile, Barcelona seems satisfied with their attacking options, especially since signing Antoine Griezmann and breakthrough of La Masia graduate Ansu Fati.

Nevertheless, Coutinho’s destination for next year still remains a mystery and hopefully the Brazilian keeps performing similarly to regain his confidence.
