Pique-Ramos relationship: Gerard Pique asked the Barcelona fans to stop abusing Sergio Ramos during the El Clasico last night.
Barcelona thumped Real Madrid 5-1 in season’s first El Clasico last night. A Coutinho opener and Vidal’s header sandwiched Luis Suarez’s terrific hattrick, as Real Madrid’s disastrous season continues under Julen Lopetegui.
With this win, the Catalan side maintained their position at the top of the table, while Real Madrid have slipped to 9th in the league.
Marcelo scored the only goal for Real Madrid early in the second half, but Lopetegui’s side failed to capitalize on it. Speculations over Lopetegui’s job had already been among the major headlines in Spain, and the result in El Clasico has increased pressure on the Spanish manager.
During the game, Sergio Ramos received a fair share of rebuke from the Barca crowd. However, Gerard Pique’s reaction towards the abusive chants was welcomed by both sets of fans.
Pique-Ramos relationship:
A section of Camp Nou chanted “Ramos, you son of a b****” during a Barca corner. However, Gerard Pique, who has played with Ramos with the Spanish national team, told the Barcelona fans to stop the chants.
Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos have been involved in a few on-field altercations during the El Clasico, but the Barcelona defender was having none of it on the night.

What next?
Gerard Pique commented on his ‘five-fingers’ celebration after the game. He stated it was only to signify that the team scored five goals, which is no mean feat.
Pique on ‘la manita’:
“It’s quite simple really; we’ve just scored five goals against our eternal rival and that’s no mean feat, so when that happens, you have to enjoy it. I don’t think people will come down on me like a tonne of bricks for just showing a hand.” [marca] pic.twitter.com/GMWefW1Fvl

He also insisted that Jordi Alba deserves to be selected for Spain’s squad. Alba performed impressively throughout the game, and also provided a terrific assist for Barcelona’s opener.
“I hope Luis Enrique changes his mind and picks Jordi Alba for Spain again,” said Pique.
