TheSportsRush brings Watford vs Manchester United prediction as United aims to stop the high-flying Javi Garcia’s side.
Watford has been a surprise package this season in the Premier League, as the team has won all of their games so far. Javi Garcia’s men pulled out a stunning 2-1 upset on Tottenham Hotspur, who arrived at the Vicarage Road on the back of a 3-0 win at Old Trafford.
Manchester United, on the other hand, endured a poor start to their league campaign. After an underwhelming 2-1 win against Leicester, Mourinho’s side lost their games against Brighton and Tottenham, before making a strong comeback at Burnley. They now meet Watford at their stadium.
Watford often relies on their two forwards, Troy Deeney and Andre Grey to tire off the opposition defence, a strategy which has worked good for Javi Garcia so far. Interestingly, Manchester United’s major worry lies in their defence. United didn’t have a consistent centre-back pairing for a long time, and a slump in form for Eric Bailly is another key issue for Mourinho.
Chris Smalling has been the only promising figure for United in the central defence, which speaks volume of their defensive worries. Mourinho needs to ensure to close the gaps between the defence, and is likely to replace Fellaini with Fred to instill pace in the side.
Prediction:
Manchester United has been victorious in their last three meetings against Watford. In their last visit to Vicarage Road, Manchester United netted four past their defence, which was also the last time United scored four goals in a competitive game. Their form in front of the goal is also a worry, as Romelu Lukaku has missed relatively easier chances, even when he scored a brace against Burnley on the fourth game-week.
