All it needed was one defeat for Jose Mourinho’s nice, loving guy act to fall apart. The façade he had built up of being in a jovial mood this season horrendously unraveled after conceding a late goal to Liverpool, one which dashed his side’s chances of salvaging anything from the encounter.

And in his typical fashion, Mourinho went berserk ensuing the result as he decided to have a swipe at Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. Berating Klopp for his antics on the pitch, Mourinho went onto claim that the better team had lost on the day.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Rips Into Mourinho On Twitter

However, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool’s left-back was having none of Mourinho’s shenanigans. Taking to Twitter, the Liverpool player hit out at Mourinho’s unwarranted comments as he posted a picture of Liverpool celebrating their win with the words: “Best team won”


The picture has won Liverpool supporters over with it garnering over 120,000 likes with people appreciating Arnold’s willingness to call out Mourinho for his outland statements. Liverpool had asserted themselves of three points on the day though a Roberto Firmino header at the tailend of the encounter, one which saw the side ease through to a 2-1 win.

Mourinho Cries Foul After Defeat

Arnold’s jibe came in the wake of Mourinho’s comments made to Amazon Prime after his side’s 2-1 defeat on the day. The defeat pushed Tottenham into second place with Liverpool taking an outright three point lead atop of the points tally.

“I told him the best team lost and he disagreed, but that’s his opinion,” he said. “By the way, if I behaved the same way on the touchline like he does, then I have no chance of staying there and I’m out for a minute. That’s animated?

“Do you want me to take the fourth official board from his hands and see what happens to me? For some reason, I am different,” Mourinho said.
