Klopp Says He’ll Stop His Persistent Complains On Liverpool’s Gruelling Schedule: The Liverpool manager was disinterested in been drawn into further discussions on the issue.
The string of injuries to have rocked Liverpool’s boat this season have only gone onto further reaffirm Jurgen Klopp’s demands for a change in the scheduling of matches. He’s also spearheaded the cause for reintroducing five substitutes, taking jibes on the FA on multiple occasions for their lack of awareness and knowhow of how to manage the league
It’s a Waste Of Time
With Liverpool handed over only a two day rest after taking on Atalanta previously in the week with the side’s upcoming Premier League clash at Brighton scheduled for early Saturday, talks around the tedious schedule were set to arise once again. However, Klopp refused to go on a tirade yet again with him loosing resigned to accept things as they are.
“My thoughts are clear,” Klopp said.
“Whatever I said doesn’t seem to help so I’ll stop talking about it. It changes nothing. It’s a waste of time.’
“The last thing I want to do is create a headline. I speak about these things in a general way because it’s a general problem.”
“In this moment we play in 25 hours, it’s not my problem. I don’t have the answer, we aren’t involved in these decisions.”
Klopp Rips The Broadcasters Into Shreds Earlier In The Week
One of the most staunch advocates for a need in the scheduling, Klopp had earlier in the week gone a lengthy and boisterous tirade against the broadcasters. Speaking after his side’s 2-0 defeat to Atalanta, Klopp has blown apart broadcasters for forcing clubs to take to the middle for their own profits.
Klopp said while speaking to BT Sport: “I’m afraid to say but I think it could happen not only to us but to other teams as well.
“You my special friends ask us to go on Saturday at 12.30pm, which is nearly a crime to be honest. It has nothing to do with the game tonight but congratulations for that.”
“’My only interest in the moment is that I get a thumbs up, nobody injured, let’s recover immediately. We take it.”
“The boys are completely disappointed, frustrated, really, but we don’t have time for it to be honest. It’s just get fresh legs as quick as possible and go again, that’s it.”
