Premier League top-4 prediction: Why Arsenal could drop below Man Utd, Tottenham

Premier League top-4 prediction: Arsenal is in pole position to finish in the top-4 at the moment. However, this could change and they could still fall out.

The Gunners are currently third in the Premier League and have been in fine form over the last few weeks.

The side registered a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United to enter the top-3 in the league, and are currently two points ahead of Tottenham and Manchester United.

Arsenal also received a further boost after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side faced a stunning 2-1 defeat at the Molineux Stadium against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

While Unai Emery’s side is in pole position to finish in the top-4, there is a chance the Gunners could still fall out of the Champions League qualification places – despite not playing a single top-6 side in the league.

Premier League top-4 chances: Can Arsenal stay in top-4?

Here’s the list of Arsenal’s remaining games in the Premier League this season:

  • Everton (A) – April 6
  • Watford (A) – April 15
  • Crystal Palace (H) – April 21
  • Wolves (A) – April 24
  • Leicester (A) – April 29
  • Brighton (H) – May 4
  • Burnley (A) – May 12

Out of the seven remaining games for Arsenal, the side has to play five away games, which could prove to be a massive issue for Unai Emery.

While Arsenal’s home form has been exemplary this season, their away performances have been a concern.

In the 14 away games Arsenal have played this season, the side has won only five. They lost as many games and drew four. Moreover, Unai Emery’s men have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of the away fixture in the Premier League this season.

While the Gunners lost to Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, they also faced defeats against West Ham United and Southampton.

Arsenal’s only away win in the Premier League this year came against Huddersfield – the first team to be relegated from the league – in February. Before the win, the side faced three consecutive away defeats.

Even when the side doesn’t face any of the top six teams in the league, they take on teams like Everton, Watford, Wolves and Everton – all of whom are comfortably in the race for the 7th place in the league.

While the other teams competing for the top 4 (Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea) have game/games against the top-six sides, Arsenal’s away form could derail them in the top-4 race.
