Premier League Transfer News: Barcelona receive offer for Philippe Coutinho from Premier League side

Premier League Transfer News: Barcelona receive offer for Philippe Coutinho from Premier League side as the summer transfer window nears its end.

Philippe Coutinho walked into Camp Nou as their most expensive transfer and third overall in the world. He had completed his dream move and hoped that it would help him to bigger things. Unfortunately, his stay has been rather tumultuous instead and within just two years, he finds himself near the exit instead.

The Brazilian has failed to impress at Barcelona and the club are looking to cut their losses. The Blaugrana have begun looking at options and are looking to shit their most expensive player out. Spanish daily, Sport have reported that Barcelona have received an offer for the attacking mid-fielder but the club are weighing all the options ahead if them before making any decision.

It is not clear who this club is, but as things stand at the moment, the English Premier League remains the most likely destination. The Blaugrana are keen to treat Coutinho and his transfer with utmost respect, so as to not devalue his worth.

Barcelona open to loan move

Barcelona are hoping to sell Coutinho within the ongoing transfer window. However, they are keeping their ears open to possible loan moves. The former Liverpool star has been linked with various EPL sides, with Manchester United and Manchester City being at the forefront. PSG are no longer in the hunt as they’ve categorically stated that they are not interested in the Brazilian. Meaning he will play no further part in Barcelona’s attempt to bring in Neymar. Coutinho has stated that he wants to continue playing in Europe and has ruled out a move to either China or Japan.

Barcelona understand that it is impossible to make a profit from Coutinho at this point. However, they are also looking to not lose a lot of money in shifting him out. A loan deal therefore would not be the worst of ideas. If Barcelona struck a loan deal with an obligation to buy, they could see his back by the summer of 2020. On the other hand, a phenomenal performance with his new club could help recover his transfer value.

Coutinho and his agent are expected to back in Barcelona this week. Besides, the EPL transfer window also closes by Thursday next week. So, an announcement could be heard very seen.
